Working as a SOC analysts after having completed my Cyber Security master at Radboud University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
Founder and administrator of the first and largest hackersforum of the Netherlands and Belgium with approximately 8,000 members.
When faced with a problem, I envision an opportunity. Hence the multitude of projects I've undertaken.
One of my greatest desires is to help people by making the world a better place. Emporing other people through tech support, educational websites and the hackers forum.
Analyst in the Security Operations Center (SOC) of the Public Prosecutor's Office / District Attorney of the Netherlands.
As a SOC Analyst, I handle the essentials—monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents. On top of that, I dive into tasks typically owned by SOC Engineers, like writing and fine-tuning detection rules. I also take on more strategic roles usually associated with Security Consultants or Architects, such as assessing the SOC’s maturity and driving initiatives to elevate its effectiveness and resilience. So it’s a role that lets me do a little bit of everything happening in the SOC, keeping things interesting and always challenging!
SOC analyst in the Security Operations Center of Northwave. In this role, I handled a constant flow of security alerts every day, all while staying within tight SLAs to make sure incidents were resolved quickly and accurately. I got to work with several different SIEM platforms, which helped me get really comfortable with detecting and responding to a wide range of security threats. It was a fast-paced environment where I learned how to balance speed with precision, and it really deepened my understanding of security tools and processes..
Owner and administrator of a Dutch ethical hackers community (with nearly 8,000 registered members and over 100,000 posts). Founded in June 2012 by me.
Topics in the 18 courses of this master include cryptography, security in software, testing techniques, network security, privacy, security in organizations and tech laws (such as the GDPR). Some of the courses were taught at Eindhoven University of Technology. My thesis was about fingerprinting mobile users in (4G/LTE) telecommunication networks using their installed apps. In my internship, I created a scoring system for Northwave to be able to assign a score to their detection rules in the SOC.
Some courses from the Master's program from Radboud University were taught at Eindhoven University of Technology. This was a collaboration between the two universities, formerly known as the TRU/e Cyber Security program. The courses I followed were called Principles of Data Protection, Cryptology, Applied Cryptography, Hackers Hut and Verification of Security Protocols.
